A Clinical Observation of the Transurethral Surgery




Abstract
Nowadays, attempts to treat urologic diseases transurethrally using endoscopy are gradually increasing and the success rate is getting higher. Most recently, with the development of many instruments and therapeutic methods, the success rate and the rate of therapeutic use increased significantly. Our urologic department studied 782 cases of patients who underwent transurethral surgery during the period of 5 years.
Disease entities included in this study were BPH, prostatic ca., bladder tumor, and ureter stone, etc. The majority of the cases were treated by TURP, TURK and the ureter stone, etc. The majority of the cases were treated by TURP and TURB and the use of URS tends to be increasing. By age, 60¢¥s ranked first in number. The incidence rate of the complications of transurethral surgery was very low and those occurred were resolved without any problem. In the future, for the diagnosis and the treatment of most of urologic deseases, the transurethral technique will be used as an ideal primary measure.
